Wendell Dalit

Wendell Dalit is an art director at Sony pictures animation, and worked on "Kpop Demon Hunters", which was the studios most recent production. Previously, he has worked on films like "Spider-man: Into the Spider-Verse" and its sequel "Spider-man: Across the Spider-Verse", which won an academy award.

Along with Spider-man, he was also an art director on "Vivo", which was Sony animation's first animated musical. Dalit also took part in the visual development in several more films like "Smurfs: The lost village" and "The Emoji Movie"

When I first encountered Dalit's work, it felt like I was immediately pulled into a new world, and I was fascinated how he sees the world through art. What i found really fascinating about his work is how he can shape the mood and emotion of the scene. Its almost like he was designing spaces and characters, designing the emotional temperature of the scene.

Seeing his work made me reconsider the importance of shape, language and color. The way he uses them to guide the viewers eye, felt extremely meticulously crafted. What i admire is the balance between artistry and storytelling. His choices on what to put on the screen is extremely well thought out, and beautifully communicates different purposes.
